The New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL), a premier government-owned general insurance company under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, has officially launched its Apprentice Engagement Drive 2026–27. A total of 550 training seats are available across all states and Union Territories of India under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and the Apprentices Act, 1961. Fresh graduates from any discipline who are eager to gain hands-on experience in India's leading BFSI (Banking, Financial Services & Insurance) sector should not miss this opportunity. Online applications are open from 23rd June 2026 and the last date to apply is 6th July 2026. The online examination is scheduled for 12th July 2026.

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹12,300/- for a training duration of 12 months. The exam is conducted in online (from home) mode by the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India through its portal beep.bfsissc.com.

Nationality

Applicants must be citizens of India.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Graduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution acknowledged by the Central Government. The final year marksheet date must fall between 1st January 2022 and 1st June 2026 (both dates inclusive). Graduates who passed before January 1, 2022 or after June 1, 2026 are not eligible.

Prior Apprenticeship & Work Experience Condition

• Candidates who have previously undergone apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 – either with NIACL or any other organization – are not eligible.
• Candidates currently engaged in any apprenticeship are also ineligible.
• Candidates with one or more years of post-graduation job experience are not eligible.

📝 Exam Pattern & Syllabus – NIACL Apprentice Online Test 2026

The online written examination is 100 marks, 100 questions, 60 minutes duration, conducted in proctored online (from home) mode by BFSI SSC.

• Tie-breaking Rule: In case of equal scores, the older candidate (by date of birth in descending order) will be ranked higher.
• No negative marking is mentioned in the official notification.

Subject-wise Syllabus

• General/Financial Awareness: Insurance sector fundamentals, banking awareness, current affairs, government schemes, Indian economy, RBI/IRDAI policies, capital markets, budget highlights.
• General English: Reading comprehension, cloze test, fill in the blanks, error spotting, sentence correction, vocabulary, para-jumbles.
• Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude: Number series, simplification, data interpretation, ratio & proportion, percentage, time & work, coding-decoding, syllogism, blood relations, seating arrangement, puzzles.
• Computer Knowledge: MS Office basics, internet usage, computer hardware/software fundamentals, cyber security awareness, shortcuts.

🔄 Selection Process – NIACL Apprentice 2026

1. Stage 1 – Online Written Test: Objective MCQ-based proctored exam from home. Top candidates are shortlisted in 3× ratio per state per category.
2. Stage 2 – Regional Language Test: Candidates who did not study the regional language of their chosen state in Class 10/12 must pass a language proficiency test (reading, writing, speaking, understanding). Failure leads to disqualification.
3. Stage 3 – Document Verification: Originals and self-attested copies of all qualifying documents must be produced at the designated Regional Office.

💰 Stipend, Leave & Training Conditions

• Monthly Stipend: ₹12,300/- (paid by 10th of following month)
• No additional benefits: No PF, Mediclaim, HRA, or other allowances
• Leave: 1 day per month; maximum 2 days carry-forward at a time; all accumulated leave lapses at contract end
• Public Holidays: Apprentices are entitled to all company-observed public holidays
• Training Duration: 12 months; assessment by BFSI SSC (theory) and NIACL (practical) upon completion
• Certificate: Apprenticeship Certificate from BFSI Sector Skill Council of India on successful completion

1. Step 1 – Register on NATS Portal: Visit https://nats.education.gov.in, create your account, complete 100% of your profile, and click "APPLY" against The New India Assurance Company Limited listing. Note your unique NATS Enrolment Number.
2. Step 2 – Apply on BFSI SSC Portal: Go to https://beep.bfsissc.com/candidate_login. Fill in personal details, upload documents (photograph and degree certificate), enter your NATS enrolment number, select your preferred state (only one state allowed), and pay the examination fee online.
3. Step 3 – Confirm & Save: After successful payment, download and print the application confirmation. No edits are allowed after final submission.
