SBI PO 2026 Recruitment Online Form for 1,500 Probationary Officer Posts

State Bank of India (SBI) has released the official recruitment notification for the appointment of 1,500 Probationary Officers (POs) for the financial year 2026-27. Selection Process & Detailed Examination Pattern

The selection process for SBI PO 2026 consists of a rigorous three-phase system designed to test candidate's analytical ability, communication skills, personality traits, and compatibility with the banking environment:

• Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (CBT): This is an objective test of 100 marks conducted online. The exam has three sections with individual timings of 20 minutes each. There are no sectional cut-off marks in the Prelims, but candidates are shortlisted for the Mains based on their aggregate score (approximately 10 times the number of vacancies in each category).
• Phase-II: Main Examination: The Main exam consists of an Objective Test of 200 marks (3 hours) and a Descriptive Test of 50 marks (30 minutes). The descriptive test is conducted online, where candidates have to type their answers on the computer.
• Phase-III: Psychometric Test, Group Exercises & Interview: Shortlisted candidates undergo a psychometric evaluation, followed by Group Exercises (20 marks) and a personal Interview (30 marks) before the final selection.

Eligibility Criteria & Academic Qualification

• Education: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Candidates who are in the final year/semester of their graduation can also apply provisionally, provided they produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before August 31, 2026.
• Age Limit (As on April 1, 2026): Not below 21 years and not above 30 years. Age relaxation rules apply for reserved categories: SC/ST (5 years), OBC (Non-Creamy Layer - 3 years), PwD (SC/ST - 15 years, OBC - 13 years, General/EWS - 10 years).

Salary Scale, Perks, and Allowances

Presently, the starting basic pay of an SBI PO is Rs. 41,960/- (with 4 advanced increments) in the scale of Rs. 36000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63840. The official salary packages also include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) or Leased House Accommodation, City Compensatory Allowance (CCA), Medical allowances, Travel concessions, and loan facilities at concessional rates. The total compensation (CTC) ranges between Rs. 8.20 Lakhs and Rs. 13.08 Lakhs per annum depending on the place of posting.

2. Click on "Join SBI" and select "Recruitment of Probationary Officers (CEN PO 2026)".
3. Click on "Apply Online" and select "Click here for New Registration". Fill basic details to generate Provisional Registration Number and Password.
4. Upload scanned photograph (20-50 KB) and signature (10-20 KB) as per specified dimensions.
5. Fill qualifications, academic history, state preferences, and test center selections.
6. Upload scanned Left Thumb Impression (JPG, 20-50 KB) and Hand-written Declaration (JPG, 50-100 KB) in the specified format.
