Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission conducts Provincial Civil Service PCS examination for recruitment to Group A and Group B gazetted posts in UP government. UPPSC PCS is considered the state equivalent of UPSC Civil Services and attracts lakhs of candidates from Uttar Pradesh. ## Post Details Deputy Collector posts are 51 which involve revenue administration and magisterial duties in districts. Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP has 38 posts for police administration and law enforcement. Block Development Officer BDO posts are 35 for rural development and panchayat administration. District Finance Controller has 12 posts for financial management. District Social Welfare Officer has 18 posts. Assistant Controller Legal Measurement has 16 posts. District Commandant Home Guard has 14 posts. Senior Lecturer in training colleges has 12 posts. Other posts total 24. ## Qualification Required Any Bachelor degree from a recognized university is required. No specific stream or minimum percentage is mentioned. Even final year students can apply provided they complete degree before document verification. Final merit is based on Main Exam 1500 marks plus Interview 100 marks totaling 1600 marks. Preliminary exam is only qualifying. ## Salary Structure Deputy Collector and DSP level posts come under Pay Level 11 which starts from Rs 56,100 basic pay going up to Rs 1,77,500. With allowances like DA HRA TA the total in hand salary is approximately Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,20,000 per month depending on posting location. Government accommodation or HRA is provided. Official vehicle facility for field visits. Medical facilities for family members. All other government employee benefits as per UP government rules. ## Career Progression Deputy Collector can become Additional District Magistrate then Chief Development Officer then District Magistrate which is the highest post at district level in UP.
