Staff Selection Commission conducts Central Police Organisations CPO examination for recruitment of Sub Inspector SI in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces CAPFs and Assistant Sub Inspector ASI in Central Industrial Security Force CISF. SSC CPO 2025 has 4187 vacancies providing opportunity to join uniformed police services. ## Organisation Wise Posts Delhi Police has 1197 vacancies for Sub Inspector Executive Male post. Delhi Police SI works in various police stations and units handling law and order, crime investigation, traffic management etc. Central Reserve Police Force CRPF has 740 SI GD posts for maintaining internal security. Border Security Force BSF has 863 SI posts guarding international borders. Central Industrial Security Force CISF has 537 ASI posts for security of government installations airports metro etc. Indo Tibetan Border Police ITBP has 218 SI posts for border guarding in Himalayan region. Total 4187 posts. ## Educational Qualification Bachelor degree in any discipline from a university recognized by UGC is mandatory. No minimum percentage criteria. Final year students can also apply provided they complete degree before physical test. Professional degrees like LLB BEd Engineering Medical are also acceptable. ## Age Limit Minimum age is 20 years and maximum age is 25 years as on 01-08-2025. For OBC candidates maximum age is 28 years with 3 years relaxation. For SC ST candidates maximum age is 30 years with 5 years relaxation. Ex servicemen and departmental candidates have age relaxation as per rules. No relaxation for general category. ## Physical Standards For male candidates height should be minimum 170 cm. For candidates from hill areas and tribal areas it is 165 cm. Chest should be 80 cm unexpanded and 85 cm expanded minimum 5 cm expansion. For female candidates minimum height is 157 cm and for hill areas 152 cm. Weight should be proportionate. Vision should be 6 by 6 in one eye and 6 by 9 in other eye with or without correction. Color blindness is disqualifying. ## Selection Process Paper 1 is Computer Based Examination with 200 objective questions for 200 marks in 2 hours. General Intelligence and Reasoning 50 questions, General Knowledge and General Awareness 50 questions, Quantitative Aptitude 50 questions, English Comprehension 50 questions. Each wrong answer attracts 0.25 marks negative marking. Cutoff marks vary by post and category. Physical Efficiency Test PET and Physical Standard Test PST are conducted for candidates qualifying paper 1. In PET male candidates have to run race long jump and high jump. Female candidates also have running long jump high jump with different standards. PST checks height chest weight as per standards. Medical examination checks overall fitness. Paper 2 is English Language and Comprehension test with 200 questions for 200 marks in 2 hours. This tests advanced English grammar vocabulary comprehension etc. Final merit is prepared on basis of aggregate marks of paper 1 and paper 2. Candidates are called for medical and document verification as per merit and vacancies. ## Salary and Perks Sub Inspector and ASI posts come under Pay Level 6 which means basic pay Rs 35,400 per month going up to Rs 1,12,400 over years. With Dearness Allowance HRA Transport Allowance and special allowances the total in hand salary is approximately Rs 50,000 to 65,000 per month at entry level. Physical fitness and mental alertness are essential. ## Career Growth Sub Inspector can get promoted to Inspector after few years of service. Then to Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP or Assistant Commandant AC. Further promotions to Superintendent of Police SP or Deputy Commandant DC. Senior ranks include Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Deputy Inspector General DIG Inspector General IG Additional Director General ADG and Director General DG which is the highest post.
