Indian Army conducts Agniveer recruitment under Agnipath scheme launched by Government of India for enrolling soldiers on four year tenure basis. Agniveer 2025 recruitment drive aims to enroll approximately 50000 or more young men and women into Indian Army across various categories like General Duty Technical Clerk Store Keeper Technical and Tradesman. ## Categories of Agniveer Agniveer General Duty GD is for combat role in infantry armored artillery and other fighting arms. Qualification required is 10th pass with 45 percent aggregate and 33 percent in each subject. Agniveer Technical is for technical trades like fitter turner electrician in technical arms like Engineers Signals EME etc. Qualification is 12th pass with Physics Chemistry Mathematics or Physics Chemistry Biology with 50 percent aggregate and 40 percent in each subject. Agniveer Technical Aviation and Ammunition is specialized technical role requiring 12th PCM or PCB with higher percentage. Agniveer Clerk Store Keeper Technical is for administrative and clerical duties requiring 12th pass any stream with 60 percent aggregate and 50 percent in each subject. Agniveer Tradesman 10th is for support trades requiring 10th pass with 33 percent marks. Agniveer Tradesman 8th is for certain trades allowing 8th pass candidates. ## Age Limit Criteria Candidates should be between 17.5 years to 21 years of age. Date of birth should fall between 01 October 2004 to 01 April 2008 for recruitment year 2025. There is no age relaxation provided under Agnipath scheme. This strict age bar ensures only young energetic youth join the forces. ## Agnipath Scheme Details Under Agnipath scheme Agniveers are enrolled for a period of 4 years mandatory service. It is not a permanent regular job. After completing 4 years only 25 percent of the batch will be offered opportunity to continue in regular Indian Army for another 15 years making it total 19 years pensionable service. Remaining 75 percent Agniveers will be released after 4 years with Seva Nidhi package and skill certificate. During the 4 year tenure Agniveers receive monthly stipend which increases each year. In first year Rs 30,000 per month, second year Rs 33,000, third year Rs 36,500 and fourth year Rs 40,000. Out of this 30 percent contribution is deducted and deposited in Seva Nidhi corpus. Government contributes matching amount. After 4 years Agniveer gets approximately Rs 11.71 lakh as Seva Nidhi amount which is tax free. In case of death during service the family gets Rs 1 crore as compensation plus Seva Nidhi amount plus any insurance. In case of disability suitable compensation is provided as per rules. ## Selection Process Recruitment is conducted through Army Recruitment Rallies organized at various locations across India throughout the year. Process starts with Common Entrance Examination CEE which is online Computer Based Test conducted at designated exam centers. CEE has objective questions on subjects relevant to the category applied. For GD questions on GK reasoning elementary mathematics etc. For Technical physics chemistry mathematics questions. Qualifying in CEE is mandatory. After CEE candidates are called for physical fitness test at rally ground. Physical Fitness Test PFT consists of 1.6 km run which must be completed within stipulated time 5 minutes 30 seconds for GD and 5 minutes 45 seconds for others. Then beam or pull ups minimum 10 for GD and 6 for others. Zig zag balance and 9 feet ditch crossing tests. Only those clearing PFT proceed further. Physical Measurement Test checks height which should be minimum 160 cm for most regions and 157 cm for hill and tribal areas. Weight proportionate to height. Chest minimum 77 cm unexpanded and 82 cm expanded. Medical examination is conducted to check overall fitness. Vision hearing cardiovascular respiratory all systems are examined. Only medically fit candidates are finally enrolled. ## Monthly Stipend Package Year 1 gross package is Rs 30,000 per month. After 30 percent contribution to Seva Nidhi the in hand amount is Rs 21,000. Year 2 package Rs 33,000 with in hand Rs 23,100. Year 3 package Rs 36,500 with in hand Rs 25,550. Year 4 package Rs 40,000 with in hand Rs 28,000. Average monthly in hand over 4 years is approximately Rs 24,000 to 25,000. In addition Agniveers get free ration, free accommodation in barracks, free uniform, free medical treatment, risk and hardship allowance when posted in difficult areas, travel concessions, insurance coverage. Overall the package is decent considering the age group and that it provides valuable military training and experience. ## After 4 Years Agniveers completing 4 years tenure get Seva Nidhi package of Rs 11.71 lakh tax free. They get Agniveer Skill Certificate recognizing their military training and acquired skills which can help in employment. Priority is given in state police forces and central police forces recruitment. Many states have announced reservation or relaxation for ex Agniveers in their police constable recruitment. Central government jobs also provide certain preferences. Candidates can pursue higher education or entrepreneurship with Seva Nidhi amount. 25 percent Agniveers selected for enrollment in regular army will get all benefits of regular soldiers including pension after 15 more years. Their previous 4 years Agniveer service will not count for pension but the rank and experience gained will be advantageous for career progression. ## How to Apply Visit official Indian Army recruitment website joinindianarmy.nic.in. Fill registration form with personal details educational qualification address etc. Upload scanned documents like photo signature educational certificates. Submit the registration. Note the registration number for login. When rally schedule for your area is announced login and apply for the rally. Choose exam city for CEE. Appear in CEE exam at allotted center on scheduled date.
