Railway Recruitment Board has announced Non Technical Popular Categories NTPC recruitment for 11558 vacancies across all railway zones in India. RRB NTPC is one of the most popular railway exams attracting crores of applicants every year for graduate and undergraduate level posts. ## Graduate Level Posts Station Master posts 994 in Pay Level 6 responsible for train operations at railway stations. Goods Guard 3144 posts in Pay Level 5 managing freight train operations. Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk 1736 posts dealing with passenger tickets and commercial activities. Senior Clerk cum Typist 732 posts for office clerical work. Junior Account Assistant cum Typist 1507 posts in accounts departments. Senior Time Keeper 14 posts. Commercial Apprentice 59 posts in Pay Level 6. Traffic Apprentice 66 posts. ## Undergraduate Level Posts Junior Clerk cum Typist 990 posts in Pay Level 2 for basic clerical duties. Accounts Clerk cum Typist 361 posts. Junior Time Keeper 17 posts. Trains Clerk 544 posts maintaining train records and documentation. Commercial cum Ticket Clerk 1394 posts in Pay Level 3 issuing tickets and handling reservations. ## Educational Qualification For graduate level posts Bachelor degree from recognized university in any discipline is required. For undergraduate level posts 12th pass from recognized board is sufficient. No minimum percentage criteria specified. Final year students for graduate posts and appearing students for 12th can also apply. ## Age Limit Requirements Minimum age is 18 years. Maximum age for general candidates is 33 years as on 01-01-2025. OBC candidates can apply up to 36 years with 3 years relaxation. SC ST candidates up to 38 years with 5 years relaxation. PwD candidates get additional 10 years relaxation. Ex servicemen and departmental candidates have separate age relaxation as per railway rules. ## Selection Process Stages First stage is Computer Based Test CBT 1 with 100 questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes. Mathematics 30 questions, General Intelligence Reasoning 30 questions, General Awareness 40 questions. Negative marking of one third mark for each wrong answer. Candidates qualifying CBT 1 as per their category cutoff will be called for next stage. Second stage CBT 2 has 120 questions for 120 marks in 90 minutes. General Awareness 50 questions, Mathematics 35 questions, General Intelligence Reasoning 35 questions. Again negative marking of one third. For certain posts like Station Master and Traffic Apprentice there is Computer Based Aptitude Test CBAT to assess suitability. Typing Skill Test is conducted for posts requiring typing like clerks. Minimum speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi or 40 wpm in English on computer. Document verification is done for checking educational certificates. Medical examination as per railway standards is mandatory. Final merit list is prepared based on CBT stage 2 marks. ## Pay Scale and Benefits Pay Level 6 Station Master and Commercial Apprentice get basic Rs 35,400 going up to Rs 1,12,400 in later years. With DA HRA and allowances in hand salary is Rs 50,000 to 65,000 monthly. Pay Level 5 Goods Guard and Senior Clerk get Rs 29,200 to 92,300 with in hand around Rs 45,000 to 55,000. Pay Level 4 Senior Clerk cum Typist Rs 25,500 to 81,100. Pay Level 3 Commercial Ticket Clerk Rs 21,700 to 69,100. Pay Level 2 Junior Clerk Rs 19,900 to 63,200 with in hand Rs 30,000 to 35,000. Railway employees get free railway pass for self and family anywhere in India. Subsidized railway quarters or HRA. Medical facilities at railway hospitals for entire family. Leave Travel Concession. Children education allowance. Pension benefits under NPS. Uniform and washing allowance for certain posts. Night duty allowance. Running allowance for guards. Overall compensation is very attractive. ## Application Procedure Visit the official RRB website rrbapply.gov.in or respective RRB zonal website. Click on apply online for NTPC 2025. Register by providing email ID mobile number and basic details. An email and SMS with registration credentials will be sent. Login using credentials. Fill complete application form with personal educational bank account exam center preference details. Upload scanned photo and signature. Pay application fee online through Net Banking Debit Card or visit SBI branch for offline payment. Submit application and note registration number for future reference. ## Fee Structure For General OBC and EWS category candidates the application fee is Rs 500. Out of this Rs 400 is refundable after deducting bank charges if candidate appears in exam. For SC ST PwD Female Minorities Economically Backward Class and Ex Servicemen the fee is Rs 250 which is also refundable. Payment can be done online or offline through SBI bank. ## Exam Centers Available RRB NTPC exam is conducted across all major cities in India. More than 100 exam centers across all states. Candidates can choose preferred exam center while filling application form. Three choices can be given. Allotment depends on availability. Admit card will mention allocated center.
